Privacy of Indoor Location Data

In an increasingly connected world, the collection and utilization of indoor location data have become ubiquitous. While this data holds immense potential for improving our daily lives, , it also raises critical concerns about personal privacy. Indoor location data can reveal sensitive information about an individual’s routines, behaviors, and preferences within the confines of private spaces such as homes, offices, and healthcare facilities.

The leakage of location data can enable malicious actors to track an individual’s movements, monitor their habits, and potentially exploit vulnerabilities. This poses significant risks, ranging from physical security threats, such as burglary or stalking, to more insidious invasions of personal space and identity theft. Moreover, in healthcare settings, the exposure of indoor location data can compromise patient confidentiality, leading to breaches of medical privacy and discrimination.

Therefore, safeguarding indoor location data is not merely a matter of convenience but a crucial step in protecting individuals from a wide range of potential harms that can result from its unauthorized disclosure.

In this project our aim is to protect the user’s information, while still we are able to provide them indoor location services.
